IndustrialHeating.com - NASA Spacecraft to Visit 'Metal World'

NASA will launch a spacecraft using solar electric propulsion to a ‘metal world’ known as Psyche, believed to be made almost entirely of iron and nickel. Psyche’s nickel-iron makeup indicates that it could be the exposed core of an early protoplanet that was torn apart during the early history of the Solar System. What makes Psyche so unique is its size. It is nearly the size of Massachusetts. Psyche, which is also the name of the spacecraft exploring the ‘metal world’, is currently scheduled to launch in the summer of 2022 and reach the asteroid in 2026.
