[January 2012] Droitwich, UK - The world's leading induction furnace supplier has invested in a new purpose-built factory in the UK to accommodate the manufacture of larger capacity coreless induction furnaces following a marked increase in customer demand.
Inductotherm Europe Limited has combined forces with one of its sister companies Consarc, the world’s leading vacuum technology specialist, to erect a new facility suitably equipped to handle major steel shell furnace bodies and vacuum furnace systems.
The new building has a floor area in excess of 800m2 and a height of 14.5m to the eaves. It houses two cranes each having a total lifting ability of 40 tonnes giving a total capability of 80 tonnes lift.
The decision to build the new facility was led by customer demand in recent years for larger furnaces and means Inductotherm can continue to meet expectations for its full and wide range of equipment from small 25kg precious metal melting furnaces and medium size non-ferrous, iron and steel melting furnaces, to large high power iron and steel melting furnace systems.
Managing Director Steve Hill said: “We now see coreless furnace orders of 35 to 85 tonne capacity as the norm. With this increase in size, the existing facility in Droitwich had started to struggle with the physical size and weight of these Heavy Duty Steel Shells. The decision to expand production facilities is important for us as it maintains our reputation for reliability by helping us to meet current and future demand at all levels.”
The new building is nearing completion and should be open for business early in February 2012.
