Inductoheat, Inc., an Inductotherm Group company, shipped a customized Statiscan® IV Induction System to an international supplier of automotive transmission and driveline components. This machine maximizes process efficiency by simultaneously induction hardening and quenching (3) three locations of a balance shaft in less than 16 seconds. The areas on the shaft are non-concentric to each other and vary in position between the four part models processed on the machine, however, the unique concept and design of this machine provides the significant advantage of using the same tooling for all part configurations, eliminating changeover.
This modular, compact system is comprised of (3) UniPower® UP 16 power supplies, while occupying only 106" x 104" of floor space.
Allen-Bradley® PLC controls with touch-screen HMI interface and process monitoring offer superior process control and monitoring capabilities assuring process repeatability and efficiency. For system cooling and part quenching, an integrated closed-loop water recirculation system is packaged on a common base.
